LYDIA, Philadelphia. Pseudo-autonomous issue. temp. Caracalla-Elagabalus, AD 198-222. Æ (26mm, 9.30 g, 6h). Laureate head of Demos right; c/m: radiate bust of Helios right / Athena standing facing, head left, holding cult statue of Artemis Anaitis in right hand, spear and shield in left. Martin 4/2 = RPC VI Online temp. no. 4565/5 = Lindgren 777 (this coin); for c/m: Howgego 9. VF, green and brown surfaces, some minor roughness.

From Howgego: "Helios had a temple at Philadelphia (SNG Aul 3081). The countermarking is possibly to be connected with the Δεια 'Αλια held there under Caracalla."
